City’s Emergency and Protective Services will show their Capital Pride

Ottawa – The City of Ottawa will recognize Capital Pride Week with a series of flag raisings on Monday, August 20. All of these events and more are listed online at capitalpride.ca.

Mayor Jim Watson will mark the official start to the Capital Pride Festival with a flag raising Monday at 4 p.m. at City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West.

 
Parade
The annual Capital Pride Parade will take place Sunday, August 26 at 1 p.m. The parade will likely impact traffic along portions of Wellington Street, Bank Street and Laurier Avenue. Ottawa Public Health (OPH) will be active at the parade, promoting its programs to the GLBTQ community. Mayor Watson and several city councillors will ride the OPH float.
